The NHS workforce in Scotland is in crisis – we desperately need a plan to keep dedicated, hardworking but exhausted staff in the NHS.
This can only be done if together, with employers, if our politicians use the powers, they have to put NHS pay right in Scotland. That means making sure everyone is paid fairly for the job they do and the hours they work through.
UNISON’s NHS pay claim for 2022 is asking for:
- Inflation-busting pay rise to address the cost-of-living crisis
- Benchmark the bottom of pay structures against the real living wage
- Grade us right, reward additional hours fairly and prevent burnout by limiting excess hours
- Support progression and career development
