During the financial crisis in 2011, Hertfordshire County Council decided to stop paying its staff for the first two days of sick leave.
Civic centre staff have since won back full contactual sick pay, but school staff were told we’d have to wait. This is despite us working in close quarters with coughing kids spreading their germs. We get sick from work and then we’re punished again by not getting paid.
We’re calling for Hertfordshire County Council to value us and treat us with respect. Please sign this petition so that when we go sick, we don’t go hungry too.
