UNISON Action

COUNT ME IN!

Over the past few months UNISON and the senior management of UHB have been meeting to discuss your UNISON Job Evaluation submission for the re-banding of HCAs/TSWs/MSWs from band 2 to band 3.

The UNISON negotiating team have attended these meetings in good faith, with the sole focus of ensuring band 2 HCAs/TSWs/MSWs who are currently undertaking band 3 duties are recognised and fairly rewarded for the work that YOU have been undertaking. However, progress has been slow.

We now need to call on you - our members - to make your voices heard in your claim for a back pay deal.

Will you stand up and be counted?

*Please note you must be a member of UNISON in order to add your name to the UNISON formal collective grievance - if you haven't joined yet then please join today and stand with your colleagues

Please note: Filling in this form does not mean that you have a claim for a band 3 post. By signing you are consenting for your name to be added to the UNISON collective grievance and to be contacted about the campaign.

COUNT ME IN!

I am a band 2 HCA/TSW/MSW working at UHB and I am a UNISON member.

I believe that I am/have been regularly undertaking clinical duties that should be paid at a band 3 rate.

I want UNISON to add me to the UNISON collective grievance

“Healthcare support staff provide vital patient care, and often undertake a wide range of duties crucial to supporting other clinical staff and their patients. If we did not undertake these duties, patient care would be compromised and further strain would be placed on registered staff. We believe our posts have changed and should be re-graded to Band 3 and that, in accordance with the Job Evaluation Handbook (Chapter 3, Section 4.5) any appointment to Band 3 should appropriately reward and recognise all the time we have been undertaking clinical duties.

We, the undersigned, call on UHB to pay band 2 HCAs/MSWs/TSWs who are currently undertaking band 3 roles and duties at the band 3 rate and to address the historic pay injustice by committing to pay appropriate back pay to all staff who have undertaken such duties, including bank staff.’
