Two years ago, Epsom & St Helier Hospitals Trust made the decision to bring back in-house their estates and facilities staff who were previously employed by the private company Mitie. Porters, Cleaning, Catering & Patient Transport staff were all welcomed 'back into the NHS family to improve workplace equality.'

However, none of these vital NHS staff are on actual Agenda for Change contracts, even though they are employed by the NHS. They don't enjoy the same NHS pay, terms and conditions that their colleagues do even though they share the same employer.

This means that whilst they worked tirelessly through the pandemic, put their lives at risk, and were rightly hailed as heroes they have not received the 'COVID' lump sum.

UNISON believes this is deeply unjust and unfair. Please sign our petition to demand the Epsom & St Helier Hospital Trust pay this group of NHS staff what they deserve!
