After 14 years of austerity, their pay has plummeted by as much as 25% in real terms. UNISON members have already made it clear: COSLA's current pay offer is not only insufficient but unfair. The decision to impose this offer, without addressing our members' concerns, is a further injustice.
If COSLA truly has no additional funds, as they claim, then it is up to the Scottish Government to step in and fully fund a fair settlement. Our council workers, who keep vital services running, deserve nothing less.
