Bellcare Email to Cumberland Councillors

Bellcare members have come together to petition to change their unfair schedule, travel time and ability to refuse last minute shifts. This anonymous petition is being brought to Bellcare, but members want to be one step ahead in making sure they have the power to demand these changes. That's why Bellcare members are writing to Cumberland Council who comission Bellcare to tell them it's time to hold comissioned services to account and have a say in these exploititve work practices!

This needs to change. As individuals we have no power, but stood together, we can make Bellcare do the right thing and treat us fairly. Demand your local councillors and leaders meet with you and your colleagues to hear about the reality of working for Bellcare, a service they comission for a behind closed doors confidential meeting where members can tell their stories!

Bellcare UNISON members demand:

1. To receive rotas 1 month in advance with more pattern.

2. To be asked for availability before getting assigned a last-minute call and to be allowed to decline.

3. Travel time to be correctly paid, as well as clearly stated on payslip and rota.

4. Fairer allocation of hours and rotated distribution of runs, with areas that are close geographically and appropriate.
