TELL YOUR MP: NO CUTS TO OVERTIME

Operating theatre staff in Bedfordshire hospitals have been forced to strike after bosses cut their overtime pay.

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has blocked staff from doing overtime shifts in line with their regular contracts, paid at time and a half, instead expecting them to pick up shifts on the NHS bank, which is paid at a flat rate.

This isn’t just unfair on staff, it worsens staff shortages and harms efforts to bring down waiting lists.
