Save Haxby Hall Care Workers

We are the care workers at Haxby Hall care home and we need your help. After the toughest 18 months of our lives, when we have cared for our residents like we would our own, Haxby Hall is threatening to tear our contracts up and pay us less for doing the same job!

We're being forced to work for worse pay and conditions, including:

  • a 4.5% pay cut (from £10.37 to £9.90 per hour) for care workers
  • a 15% pay cut for senior care workers (from £12.67 to £10.80)
  • No allowance when we work overtime, nights, weekends or bank holidays
  • No company sick pay - we'll just get the statutory minimum £96/week
  • No company annual leave - just the statutory minimum 28 days

This is a huge cut to what we currently earn and the conditions our family rely on. Not to mention the fact, this is what we were promised! We signed contracts.

It is an insult - and so incredibly unfair. Some of our colleagues have said, 'enough is enough' and quit to find jobs elsewhere.

Yet despite a national shortage of care workers, Haxby Hall still won't listen and make good what we were promised.

That's why we need your support. We need to force them to do the right thing.

Will you back us? Please sign our petition and share with your friends and neighbours.

Many thanks for your support,

Haxby Care Workers
